gimme a bit more on the logic of this trade please...are these 2 players super all of a sudden for all those draft picks? Was there a hidden deal or something?

I shopped tirelessly to upgrade my CB position while dealing with the cap ceiling with a number of owners. All attempts failed. It was the best deal I could get. Grimes and Penn are salary dumps to defray the cost of Jackson's salary so that my roster is compliant with the Constitution. Carolina had three CBs rated 7 and Jackson was the only one with a 10+ DUR. Moreover, I am a huge believer in Carl Lawson, DE and saw both players acquired as an attempt to get a little younger on an aging roster.
To suggest that there might have been a "hidden deal or something" is beneath Doug Crandall as I know him to be an honorable man. The answer to that is no and again no! Nor would I endorse such behavior.
I do hope the league office is applying the same scrutiny to the myriad of trades/team owners that are criticized openly via the league website and emails as peculiar. There can be no conflict of interests or it undermines the "good faith" owners must have with the league office.
I hope this helps provide clarity and serves as a proper rationale.
Respectfully submitted,
Eric Vikings

allowed but mainly because of the trust i have in these two owners not to be the same person or to quit if their teams go sour because of bad trades.
