SATURDAY AUGUST 13th 12:00 Noon ET
To start...
Start a new thread in the FA bidding forum for the player you are wanting. MAKE SURE THERE IS NOT A MESSAGE STRING FOR THAT PLAYER ALREADY POSTED. IF THERE IS, YOUR CLONE STRING WILL BE DELETED AND YOUR BID WILL NOT COUNT. If someone has already started a bidding process for that player you can just reply to it. TITLE the new player thread his name and position.
Include your team name and amount you are offering the player. DO NOT post replies unless it is for your bid or bid increase
1) You may not bid lower than their listed salary in the game.
2) You may not bid higher than the amount of available salary your team has.
3) You may not have several bids at one time that when added together, amount to more than what your team has available under the cap. If you do, you will lose all active bids at the time of the infraction. So be careful and do the math.
4) Once someone out-bids you for a player, you can automatically opt out by not placing a higher bid and the money you previously bid on that player is returned to you to bid on other players.(you do not have to announce that you have opted out. Just do not bid anymore once someone out bids you). You must outbid someone by at least $10,000
5) Once 24 hours elapses without a new bid on each player, the highest bid wins the player.
6) Once the season is over, you can retain your FA and any inflated salary returns to what the new game release says it is.
7) You may not drop players to make room for FAs won in bidding. So make sure you can fill out your roster to the needed 54/52 players...EXAMPLE.... If you have 42 players at the end of FA bidding, you need a minimum of 10 players to be legal. So... 10-350K players means you need at least 3.5 million open cap space.
8) Include in the Post what team you are when you place your bid.
9) FAs gotten in the bidding period may not be traded till they have played on your roster for a season. You're making a major commitment to a player by drafting him or paying him an inflated salary.
In conclusion...
1) Include player name and position in title of post.
2) Don't forget...if your team is not part of your forum username, you must specify which team you are.
3) DO NOT create a duplicate post for a player. Make sure the player you are creating a post for has not been done already by another team. Only the first message string created for a specific player will be accepted. the other, deleted.
4) If your post is not done correctly, it will be deleted. We must have all these details in the post.
There is a search box immediately under the 'create thread' box.
I recommend you use it before creating a new thread to check if the player has already been bid on. Check separately by first name and last name. Sometimes someone will inadvertently misspell either a first or last name in creating a bid and if you check for the entire name at one fell swoop you may not find it.
Please email me with any questions. The last thing we want is anyone hurting their team because they did not fully understand the system.
